6. Do braces hurt?

It is not painful to have braces. However, there may be a little pressure feeling in the first 24 hours from the pressure from the wire. As the teeth start moving there may be some discomfort from the wire pressing on the gums which can be corrected by adjusting the wire length.

7. What are the different types of braces?

Braces can be divided based on metal or ceramic braces. Metal braces are made of medical grade stainless steel and ceramic braces are made of high-density ceramic. While metal braces have a metallic color, ceramic braces are transparent. Other types of braces are the lingual braces which are placed behind the teeth and are invisible.

8. I am allergic to metal, will ceramic braces be suitable for me?

Yes, Ceramic braces are inert and do not cause allergies.

9. Will the results with ceramic braces be better than with metal braces?

In general, ceramic and metal brackets are designed very similarly in order to work the same way. Ceramic braces are preferred nowadays for their high cosmetic value.

10. Are the braces for adults different from that for teenagers?
